Introducing Ken Cannane, our esteemed Quality Control Manager at AIA. With over 60 years of unparalleled experience in civil aviation maintenance, aircraft certification, and regulatory oversight, Ken brings a wealth of expertise to our institute.
Ken’s journey in the aviation industry began as a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer, which paved the way for a remarkable career trajectory encompassing management roles, aircraft accident safety investigation, and senior positions within civil aviation regulation. His extensive industry experience spans maintenance and management of both airplanes and helicopters, including serving as the Engineering Manager for an airline operating B737s.
Notably, Ken spent nearly 12 months at Boeing as the airline representative during aircraft procurement phases, gaining invaluable insights into industry standards and best practices. Following his civil career, Ken transitioned to the Department of Civil Aviation, where he played pivotal roles in accident investigation, industry audits, and eventually rose to executive management as the head of the airworthiness and engineering division.
Ken’s contributions extend beyond national borders, as he represented Australia as a member of the International Directors of Maintenance, collaborating with top civil aviation authorities such as the FAA, Transport Canada, and ANAC Brazil, among others.
In his role as Quality Control Manager, Ken is dedicated to ensuring that AIA remains fully compliant with regulatory requirements, safeguarding the institute’s commitment to excellence and safety in aviation education and training. With his unparalleled expertise and unwavering dedication, Ken plays a crucial role in upholding the standards of AIA and advancing the future of aviation.
